Protopage is your own personal page that can be accessed from any computer or mobile phone. I like to compare it to Diigo and Wallwisher - a combination of the two. Teachers can share important links with students or peers. Other items that can be shared with Protopage: fun applications, documents, calendar events, etc. Individual make tabs to organize information by subjects/topics, etc. This page can be made to share with others for easy access to information you wish to share.
From the homepage for Protopage (www.protopage.com) you will register for your own account:
Once you have registered then you will begin creating your page. You can personalize your page with colors and themes:
There are many, many additional widgets to find by clicking on Explore the Widget Showcase:
You can also personalize your tabs: change the color, change the layout of the tab page (different number of columns), and create additional tabs (quite similar to the tabs in LiveBinders).
Think of Protopage as your own personal bookmarking and organizational tool. Once you have created your Protopage - share it with others. In order to do this you have to make your page public by clicking on the tab settings option:
You then get another box of options:
- Share the entire page
- Share a specific tab
Protopage is a fun way to share information with your peers and students. YOUR CHALLENGE - how would you use Protopage in a classroom setting or for your PLC?
